Berea Friendship UMC Youth Ministries

What is "PHOTOS"? "PHOTOS" (pron. FOH-tos) is the essence of what the Berea Friendship UMC youth ministry is about. When Jesus spoke to his disciples, He told them, "You ARE the light of the world." As people trying to pursue the life God calls us to, we are striving to be the light of the world in the here and now. In all that we do and in every place that God calls us, we try to shine His light so that those around us might see the Father, knowing that Jesus is the source of our light and THAT light will never go out!

Youth in grades 7-12 are invited to join us on Sundays at 9:30 AM and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM each week for a time of fellowship, Bible study, and activities. We also plan special events throughout the year such as lock-ins, trips to Carowinds, pool parties, and cookouts. We do a lot of cool mission projects and service projects, too, like helping to repair homes at Salkahatchee every summer. It's hard work, but it's really fun, and it feels good to help people who need it.

THIS WEEK:

Sunday: "Teenage 101: What's Next?"
Wednesday:
James 3:1-12 "Tighten Your Tongue"

Sunday Mornings: We meet together at 9:30 AM in the youth room upstairs for a little praise and worship, conversations and a lesson.

Wednesday Nights: Wedensday nights at BFUMC can mean anything from swinging in the playground to blowing Kleenex around the room all while trying to figure out how to love God and love people as well as we can!

Second Sundays are saved for Youth Breakfast! We offer breakfast in the Fellowship Hall from 8:30 - 9:30. Again, there's no charge, but we do ask for donations. The meals are a lot of fun, but they're also a lot of work; you should come even if you can't cook, because there are plenty of other ways you can help, and the more people that come, the more fun we have!

Martin Leathers-Youth Minister
Martin is a graduate of Furman University and an avid ultimate frisbee player. Hailing from the West Coast in California and the Music City rhythms of Nashville, he loves being outside and hanging out with the youth of BFUMC! Among his many joys and hobbies are throwing frisbees around, playing guitar and singing, taking hikes and playing sports, and finding quality Mexican food wherever he can! He loves seeing the ways that God is at work in the lives of the youth at Berea Friendship.
