Even though our country is going through difficult times, the United Methodist Women have reasons to celebrate. We use our talents and monetary gifts to spread Methodism and the love of God throughout the world. We follow John Wesley's Creed: "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
The United Methodist Women first organized themselves for mission in Boston, Massachusetts in 1869. We are here today because God called those women to action.
They heard stories of the plight of women in India and responded by saving their monies, and soon had enough to send two women missionaries to India to work with the Indian sisters.
After 140 years, we still celebrate because the United Methodist Women is in mission affecting the lives of women, children and youth.
We have been called by name. We have been called to action. With joy we serve! With joy we give thanks to God for abundance beyond what we need and deserve.
Faithfulness and thankfulness—that's a lifestyle for United Methodist Women.
